It amazes me that there are perhaps 250 patches resident on the Apple web and ftp sites, without a global index that indicates which patches are necessary for which Mac OS versions on which computers. Once a patch has been created, it seems to live forever.

By the way, why did it take so long for Apple to figure out how to boot the system from a CD-ROM? Apple should consider it a huge embarassment that there were two versions of the System 7.5 CD-ROM. (The first was not bootable.)
